Veterans’ Employment and Training Program

E-VET is an employment and training program developed specifically for veterans who served one day of active duty in the armed forces. Eligible veterans must have an arrest record in the last 18 months or be concluding parole/probation in the next 12 months. Finally, eligible veterans must be at risk of homelessness by being unemployed or under-employed.

Eaglevision offers free services to eligible veterans including education and training opportunities, supportive services, and employment related assistance. Individual case management for each veteran is provided which includes career counseling, resume and interview assistance, job development, and life skills training. Additional services available include anger management, soft skills, computer lab time, support groups, and referrals as indicated.

“Everyone deserves a second chance, especially the men and women who have sacrificed for our country,” said Secretary of Labor, Hilda L. Solis. “This program is designed to help open doors back into the workplace for veterans, and to allow them to contribute positively both to the nation’s economic recovery and society as a whole.”

Veteran’s may be referred to the E-VET program by the Veteran’s Court, parole and probation officers, district, municipal, county and federal courts, correctional facilities, other veteran’s agencies and community service organizations. Veteran’s that believe they may be eligible may call the Eaglevision offices at (517) 574-5643 and set up an appointment to speak directly with a case manager in a confidential setting. All services and training offered through the E-VET program are free to eligible veterans.
