Eaglevision Recognized by IBM and Awarded IT Scholarship:
Eaglevision has partnered with IBM since January 2011.  Together EVM hosted free computer training instructed by volunteers from IBM staff.  The partnership was birthed to celebrate IBM’s Centennial Celebration.   Throughout the partnership job seekers were offered training in various computer related areas to increase each individual’s computer skill set and ability to secure employment.  As a result of the impact these trainings have had both on the participants and the trainers, Eaglevision was awarded a scholarship to increase its technology and creating more opportunities for additional training. more

Eaglevision Recognized by LSJ for Creating Job:
Eaglevision was recognized by LSJ on front page of August 22, 2011 newspaper in an article titled “Faith-based nonprofit helps land jobs -Programs aid displaced workers, ex-offenders, dropouts (Written by Melissa Domsic).”  The article praised and explained how Eaglevision is working out-of-the-box to put unemployed men, women, and youth back to work.  Participants have impressed both the customers they serve in the businesses they work and have developed strong partnerships with local businesses. Eaglevision Recognized by WKAR (Michigan Public Radio):
Eaglevision was featured August 29, 2011 in a leading story on WKAR (Michigan Public Radio) as a part of its reWorking Michigan: Non-profits train novice computer users by Emanuele Berry & Rob South.  The story included both Dr. LaClaire’s and Robert Nelsen’s comments along with an interview from a participant who found success thanks to Eaglevision’s support.  Studies continue to shown that success in employment and success in life, regardless of location, is tied directly to access to and knowledge of computers.   Eaglevision offers free weekly computer classes to its participants.  In these computer classes individuals learn valuable computer skill to enable them to apply for work and increase his or her employability skill.  Eaglevision also partners with other organizations to ensure top rated resources for its participants. Second Chance Employment Enterprises is established:
Second Chance Employment Enterprises was created by Dr. LaClaire Bouknight as a way to create new employment opportunities for barrier ridden job seekers.  From those who possess a criminal record and continue to struggle to find employment, or those who have been diagnosed with various disabilities and lack assistance with accommodations needed for jobs, Second Chance Employment Enterprises will be the umbrella company under which various subsidiary employment/work readiness opportunities will be created.  Today is a new beginning for job seekers who struggle to overcome barriers and gain employment.
